A Show You Wish More People Were Watching
Cougar Town, Courteney Cox Arquette's return to network television, got off to a shaky start. The first handful of episodes were struggling to find that balance between comedy and sentiment, raunchiness and clean one-liners, much like Cox's character was trying to find a balance between single mother and dating divorcee. But in the second half of the first season, the show became one of the funniest shows on the major networks.

Cox is a gifted comedienne (uh, Monica!) and here she is able to finally burst into the spotlight. On
Friends she was an ensemble player (as they all were), and here she gets to be the comedy-star we knew she could be. If the name turns you off, just please give it a try. It has a heart, and it has found its stride.
Amendment to yesterday's "Never should have been canceled" meme: Lisa Kudrow's
The Comeback. That show should still be on today. Valerie Cherish is a character for the ages. Along with
Arrested Development, this show is a comedic gem that should still grace the airwaves.
